Someone asked me today how I got the idea for The Wedding Crafter. I had to think for a minute, but I suppose the absolute beginning was buying a paper-making kit in Paperchase on Tottenham Court Road in 2003. Forget the cutesy notebooks etc that you find in Paperchase at your local station - upstairs at Tottenham Court Road caters for the serious paper lover with stacks and stacks of beautiful papers aimed at artists and creative students.
Having had a go at making my own papers, I then needed something to do with them and so discovered cardmaking. At the time I was looking for a wedding-related business to run alongside the one I already had (bouquet preservation). About 6 months after I first dabbled in papercrafts, the idea of combining papers and weddings took hold and The Wedding Crafter was born. Within a year I had dropped the bouquets (although I still love flowers) and taken on my first employee and it has just grown from there.
